Why I Introduced Animal Foods into My Raw Vegan Diet and more...

I WAS STREAMING ON INSTAGRAM TODAY:

Turns out that some of my audience is IG only and they were unaware of my "adventures" lol. By the way, if you didn't know, I have an art instagram account where I share my design and sewing creative processes and clothes I make.

One note here. I lost habit of intagramming for Raw Form of Life because of my tectonic shifts lately (figuring out my overall strategy moving forward) and because the following there is pretty small, and when I went live this morning it stroke me with how much filtering IG applies by default 🤦🏽‍♀️ Truly a delirium platform! Yes, I am bothered by it because of the unrealistic sales pitches of eternal youth and perfect bodies without showing a real picture. Yes, I want to talk about it because customers of the media and info products must be able to see the products (which can be a lifestyle, a fitness program, a diet, some skincare, etc.) as it is. Of course, it is nice to see a polished and beautiful picture, but integrity can coexist with the general life aesthetics, I think.

🧾The trap is that the small changes in appearance that happen while certain dysfunctional behaviors are still reversible are smudged by the facetune, built-in camera filters, IG filters, but this is when the audience and the person themselves should really get alarmed and call it out because when things become too obvious and not filterable it is usually too late. I recalled in the stream and will write it here. Remember that fruitarian chef influencer who passed away last summer? What terrified me in this situation outside of what happened in general was the fact that she was posting videos of herself while being deep in her condition. She used very strong filters at that time and for many people it would still be obvious that the person was unwell, but some people could not recognize it and were cheering her up and encouraging her to continue the "detox", like "you go girl", "goals!!". Could those voices of encouragement further fuel the part of self that wanted to keep going?

❤️This is a psychological speculation, but I want to express it too. Some people, me included, to a different degree suffer (of enjoy) from the need to experience life and themselves through the external lens or through some people's perceptions. It partially happens due to upbringing, partially ingrained from birth as a natural trait, and partially stems from lack of close connections with real people in real life who would validate our existence that way. So the camera, the process of looking at yourself through the lens becomes a way to validate your existence and experiences. Now, if this tendency inflates into a true, near-clinical pathology, a person may associate themselves fully with the brilliant, perfect image their camera produces because this is the way they are seen and this is how they like to be seen, conveniently discarding all the "flaws" as they imagine them. It is a somewhat narcissistic trauma that deserves to be resolved with a specialist and turned into something positive (we cannot redesign our core personality traits, we can only turn them into either functional or dysfunctional behaviors). On the one hand, there is a world-facing super-hero that a person accepts and cherishes in themselves, but think what shame and disgust such a person feels about their other side of self that they are trying to diminish, erase, hide, forget, wash away... It is a very sad life of self because any dissociation and rejection of some parts of your personality create a lot of tension, distress, and robs you of your full potential for happiness and achievements.

💐By the way, to heal yourself from the media-instilled perfectionism, dig into the world of European cinema starting with the revolutionary 1960s when the genre of realism began. I in general love European school of filmography because it is both, artistic and down-to-earth, very relatable, poetically portraying the nuances of ordinary (or not so much) life rather than heroes, villains, and linear love stories. You can even watch those films in their original languages that you don't understand, just observe. Also, go to the museums, see real-life art, see real people who appreciate art and nature, who do what they love. Travel overseas whenever possible and get lost in the world of new contexts. That way, you will see the beauty of senses that transcends flat bellies, cheekbones, and an infinite race against time.
